My current work schedule makes attending local meet ups difficult but I would like to use vacation time to attend at least 2 meetups by the end of the semester.

I only have a couple days left in the inspection period unless we request an extension so am in a hurry to get someone in there.Does anyone have any recommendations for a good electrician in the Kansas City area that will service Independence?   

I've called a couple told them I was a buyer and asked to get on their buy list.  

I know for sure I will order a couple books on real estate investing hoping that will give me a little more insight. 

This is the conundrum that every investor is in and the answer is that it's an issue.The way to work around it is to prepare your taxes for a couple of years without the "optional" items that you can declare. 

But without a couple folks to help evaluate a deal, it is incredibly easy to wind up with a property that doesn't break-even.We read about successes on here, but not often about the deals that DIDN'T work out. 

My husband and I both come from Real Estate savvy families, I made a comment a couple years back about purchasing a rental property for passive income and my husband told me not to get ahead of myself.

Would be good for an older single or couple.

He said there might be a couple spots where water could come in so for the sake of my property maybe I should get it done.

The upstairs unit is currently occupied by a contractor/friend of mine who has agreed to fix the place up on his own (me paying for materials) if he could have a break in the rent (charging a couple hundred under market).
