Approaching friends and family is a delicate enterprise which should not be undertaken lightly.

I especially like that you've taken the initiative to get good photographs.What colour are your walls by the way?  

When I hear 'petty requests' to me that is along the line of I don't like the colour of the door handle in which case I'd say tough it is the same one that was there when you bought it.
