I was living in a rental at the time with no hook ups and a mini portable washer.

I learned that many, many of the people who claim that they've 'arrived' are self-delusional, pathological liars, will tell you that they've done such-and-such and keep a straight face when, in fact, they couldn't find their way out of a paper bag with a portable Garmin GPS.

when I was in the timber business in the 90s  ( and we made millions at this)  here is what I did that is a little out side the box.. lap tops  you know what those are they are portable computers. 

Some people I know use portable A/C's to help cool the rooms that are too hot.

Do I need to put them in a hotel or get a portable a/c unit?  

You can also get special window units that cost a little more for casement windows, or use one of the portable type air conditioners with the vent hose(s).
