Florida is a good place to live and a great place to visit and retire to, so our growth is mostly dependent on tourists, retirees and speculation.

If interest rates continue to drop then more retirees and seniors will need alternative assets that produce some substantial cash flow/yield.

My money partners have been, family, friends, coworkers of friends, realtors, attorneys, accountants, bank teller, retiree, divorcee, teacher, physical therapist.... 

Granted, some people do it, but what I've found is a lot of these young retirees basically end up doing the same thing non-retirees do: they volunteer a lot of time (i.e. work for free), or start a business, or do something else to fill in the time-gap.I get it: FIRE is a popular concept right now, but aside from it being the latest buzz-phrase....what does it have to offer you that a rewarding, fulfilling career and/or starting your own biz wouldn't offer?

I read recently that in 1950, there were 16 workers to support one retiree, but now there are only two workers to support a retiree.
