The court overturned stare decisis (established case law) to make their decision which they don't do lightly so this is actually a really big deal.  

@Patrick Crotty, the larger NYC Landlord community is up in arms about this, and already has a lawsuit filed to overturn this law. 

A higher court would quickly overturn such a foolish decision on appeal.

Josh -Focusing on your second point first, I completely agree that Obama is doing a horrible job of overturning all the executive orders and bad policy of the last administration, and personally I look at this administration as a complete failure in that respect.As for moving on, it scares me that these types of policies could have been put in place by an administration without the consent or knowledge of the people.
