If those extra payments you have been making each month are treated as service fees then it would be logical that they would say you were short when you make only the required payment.Are you sure you have a clean title to the property? 

For me, the next logical move seems to be to start my own business.I am starting a wholesaling business in an effort to raise capital, get my own experience with starting a business, learn, find deals, and to get started with a long and fruitful career in real estate.

Maybe not in your world, but in my mine, the answer is yes because I prefer to use critical thinking and logic, instead of emotion before making a crucial choice.By the way, I'm not a man-hater by any means.

I think you should pursue it to it's logical end, since you never know where these things end up, but just be aware, the market has changed.  

For example, when we started buying in the Costa del Sol by buying a first holiday villa in a small town, we figured out that:- There is no lodging crisis like in the big cities like Barcelona;- Even if there was a lodging crisis, the people who are victim of it would couldn't to buy or rent that kind of property anyway;- Tourism and second home owners are very important to the local economy.There is a logic behind which areas are more favourable.
