It's oftentimes the small details that get overlooked - light switches, lighting, trims, closet doors, and if applicable fireplace mantel...Also don't forget about picking a harmonious color palette!

If you are keeping it and renting it out you want as close to a standard neutral palette as possible.

you could actually paint a black line where one unit ends and the next begins, then choose colors that look good together...light gray, dark gray, tan, brick, green, colonial blue, like bm historical colors or some other palette.

I have found that using the color palettes from the paint companies is 10 times better than trying to choose paint colors individually.  

They like their color palettes and vignettes arranged on the fireplace mantle.
