Taxation was not created to redistribute wealth - ever.Govt redistribution of wealth is a tenet of other political and economical philosophies. 

Sure, there is some redistribution of wealth going on, but it doesn't seem too bad or egregious with this bill.That's on the surface.The real problem is that the country is facing rapidly rising health care costs.

Thanks.The subreddit this thread went viral on is just loud militant ultra-far-left "redistribute the wealth" types that literally praise Chairman Mao and rabble on about how landlords are "parasites." 

STR units provide competition to hotels, especially during peak seasons/festivals/major events, which redistributes profits from hotel stakeholders (who are often not local) to locals....and those are just some of the details that explain my answer.
