If you wonder what is better between investing in the stock market or real estate, there is no answer to that as both have pluses and minuses and then it can come down to knowledge, risk and volatility tolerance, personal psychology and perception, which are different from each of us.

My wife is what I would consider fairly supportive but doesn't quite buy into real estate, and is  averse in general which creates psychological road blocks that I need to contend with. 

Never let the psychology of past investment cloud your view of what you should do going forward. 3 months without an application is the tell right there. 

Sometimes simply having the property in an LLC convinces the person or attorney it isn’t worth pursuing and you get off the hook by default.I am not saying LLCs are necessary or that everyone needs one, but they can be strategically and psychologically used.Ken - thank you for taking the time to respond.
