Its not as big as Vancouver, but all the things you me tioned in your post, nature, lifestyle, tourism it’s all there.

John's, and my partner and I are considering some ideas there, especially with regard to the hefty tourism sector in the 'summer' season!   

Hi @Jay Hinrichs, regarding Wenatchee, Chelan, and Leavenworth: All can be good markets for someone looking to align with tourism and destination-based economics, or looking for a growing small town vibe.I don't invest in those markets since they don't meet a few of my criteria. 

Lots of tourism opportunities for those staying longer.People, don't get hung up on the $1000.

And I know that the tourism infrastructure (restaurants , activities) has some catching up to do aside from the new casino that is opening up.

Where the tourism economy has been established for decades.  

If you find a STR deal, in Seattle or otherwise, you should pounce on it IF you have a solid contingency plan for what to do if tourism is frozen for 6 months... a year... or even a few years.

Did you know that the murder rate in Cancun is lower than that in NYC or LA and that the murder rate for visitors is extremely low (hence the tourism has been growing by leaps and bounds over there).

STR units encourage overnight tourism versus in-and-out day trips.

Some cities are attractive for tourism, not Detroit.
