The only comp listed in MLS as active for 150K is a beautiful in-town colonial, white picket fence and all, needs tons of work, needs to be restored rather than remodeled.

And at least as recently as 30 to 40 years ago, owning a home was something you aspired to.You scrimped and you saved, and you dreamed of your white picket fence.

The pickets I buy to replace worn ones have nearly TRIPLED in price here. 

And now may Millennials  who had blue collar parents (who wouldn't know how to teach them better) are buried in debt and won't be able to have the house with the picket fence by 30 like their parents did. 

The ONLY reason I even went near this place after hearing the horror stories was because every house surrounding it had white picket fences.
