I think if there is one positive to come out of this housing market it would be that, the market of the 2010’s where everyone lived in 10 major metros was really corrosive for the country imo, to the extent we can revitalize areas & spread out, get some regionally back I think it’s great. 

All visible metal connectors are: Secured to truss/rafter with a minimum of three (3) nails, and Attached to the wall top plate of the wall framing, or embedded in the bond beam, with less than a 1/2" gap from the blocking or truss/rafter and blocked no more than 1.5" of the truss/rafter, and free of visible severe corrosion.4.

In Mass, that means that all components are double-wall, non-corrosive (fiberglass). 

I also use dielectric grease on the battery connections to prevent corrosion.

Microbial influenced corrosion (in addition to others) often manifests with creating blisters on the outside of a pipe as the interior of the pipe develops a depression.

We inherited several older 100/150amp panels in a 6 unit that had to be upgraded, (buss bar corrosion etc).
