To me it is just a waiting liability as the land gets polluted or some kid drowns.

Worse, we had some guests who didn't know what they were doing and dumped dead ashes on the bluff leading to the lake (pollution issues). 

It may be no further action today, and in 5 years the standard changes and now your site is documented to have a pollutant like benzene that causes cancer at the level you have test results for.

These carbon credits might provide some additional income for your farmland if your tenant farmer is willing to utilize (USDA) best practices for land management in an effort to reduce emissions/pollution and increase carbon sequestration. 

The quality of life in the Bay Area has deteriorated tremendously over the last 10 year in terms of traffic, pollution etc.

I hear more about water pollution in that section of the New River, honestly.

People lost their lives building those dams and we export power but who appreciates cheap energy that is not polluting the air and is not radioactive?
