.- Has anyone successfully used VA loans as a stepping stone to building a rental portfolio?

I have experience in economic development and finance, but am looking to build a portfolio to not be 100% dependent on a day job.

I’m based in Charlotte, NC and looking to scale my portfolio by investing in Columbus.

It's what I use for my rental portfolio, and they've got a great platform / app.

My portfolio is approximately 1,300 units, made up primarily of single family rental portfolios with some multifamily properties, spread across several states.I’m spending more time in Tucson as of late, and I am starting to expand my operation into this area, thus I would like to meet established investors, lenders, agents, and anyone involved in rental housing or acquisitions.

Over the past 8 years I have added between 10 and 100 properties to my portfolio each year (I also sell properties from my portfolio each year too).

I'm using Google sheets, probably not the best choice but I don't have a large portfolio. 

Does anyone have suggestion on how to streamline due diligence, locate more quality candidate investments, or just operate a healthy investment portfolio for this area of real estate?
