First, I would say that unless you reported the pot to the police, and then they advised how to destroy or they confiscate I would image your lease drug paragraph would have no legal merit in a court of law and or may be cause to find you guilty of a crime had you not notified the police.Second, as many others have said, you should base the deposit return on the condition of the apartment unit.Third, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.I liken the security deposit return to that of a 'personal guarantee'.

In one state, you can confiscate certain belonging after eviction and place a lien on it, while in most others this is forbidden.

If it not, the mortgage company will confiscate the insurance check and dole it out piecemeal and subject you to inspections before they dole out each breadcrumb.Also, if it is an older house, it will have to brought up to code, which will cost more money.

Thanks to all who came out to defeat both of these proposals that were very thinly vailed attempts to clumsily exploit class envy and resentment utilizing simplistic divide and conquer tactics.Despite our apparent great success in defeating both proposals (when it appeared that we would lose at least one, if not both), we need to remain ever vigilant as those aggressively promoting wealth redsitribution and property confiscation through highly deceptive and discrimmanatory taxation strategies will definitely be back.We need to diligently expose their "You Got, I want, Give Me" entitlement mentality if we are to preserve our California.
