My default is to recommend an LLC in these scenarios because I'm generally of the opinion that the smaller your portfolio, the more vital it is to have a solid asset protection plan because smaller/beginner investors are generally much less able to absorb losses than investors with many properties.Note: This information is foreducational and informational purposes only and does not constitute legal,tax, or financial advice.

At the very least, you’ll want to know if modifying ownership without updating the guarantee could trigger issues down the line (like a default clause).If avoiding a full refinance is the main goal, maybe check if your lender would consider a partial assumption or internal modification.
