If you go with this plan, it might be worth considering using Anonymous Land Trusts in conjunction with your Traditional LLC to maintain an additional layer of protection.

Anonymity is where it's at if you like freedom and serenity.

Code violations are anonymous, so it could be the neighbors reporting them, or maybe the city is just doing their job?

This does not defeat lawsuits, does not achieve full anonymity, etc.

I like the anonymity of LLCs as well as tax advantages, but didn't know if it was worth the time/money for only a couple properties...at least for now...I keep reading forums about LLCs vs Umbrella etc.

@Andrew Syrios is correct, before you scoop up turn key properties that are cash flowing like crazy on paper, visit with local people in that city, live and face to face, not on some anonymous forum but real conversation to see the reputation and if what you are being sold is a good deal or a load of XXXX. 

Transferring resi property from your name with a lame QCD shows up in your title chain (no anonymity) and heightens risks you are trying to avoid.
