Keep the old car, opt for the cheaper cell phone plan (and don't go over your minutes/data), don't eat out for every meal (good for both your wallet and your health), don't buy expensive clothes, etc.

They need a place to put dirty workboots, work clothing and equipment.

Wear clothing that is professional but easy to move around in (and possibly run in, so shoes too!).

A couple weights and yoga mats with a mirror, nothing crazy. 

Buy warm clothes and coats and see how many houses you can buy 6 months after we get a cold snap where it hits -20 to minus 30 degrees and doesn't get above zero degrees for 3 or 4 weeks . 

It is also very damaging to clothing and carpeting, the human body, and the environment.

If the clothes etc are in poor condition I drop them at another charity that grinds up materials to make insulation.

I have the rent mailed, I don't carry cash and I keep a low profile( old truck, work clothes) I also don't get involved in landlord /tenant disputes. 

Work on increasing your W2 income, saving money (don't buy new cars, expensive clothes etc), pay down credit card debt.
