Budgeting is easier when you have money.Other tidbidts:- Cars are paid off - we buy durable cars and have had them since 2010 and 2013 respectively - My mortgage is less than 10% of my takehome - No loans, paid degrees via cash (Worked while in school) - Use travel points (Southwest Companion Pass) - Eat at home (good, fresh food) - Live off of one spouse's income

We have first rate medical care and are taking a lot of precautions, such as canceling South by Southwest (the big gathering in Austin) and etc...Just my 2 cents.I started a thread on what U would do as a landlord if your perfectly good tenant all of a sudden gets furloughed for a month and cant make rent for one month.. what do you do..
