So my sister has a house with very little left to payoff, like around $60k, and I would like to know of some ways to acquire this property from here if I pay down the note with my own money.

I don't know this, but I remember my sister mentioning some weird things about her home sale when she recently sold in northern CA.

Anyway, my sister will be following us out there and our intent is to find a 3-bedroom home initially to rent while we look for a suitable, smallish multifamily property—we are thinking a duplex… preferably something like a 3 bedroom by two-bedroom sort of situation.

I think a lot of the condo management companies are sister companies to the developers of the condo complexes and like you mentioned, bad websites, outdated photos, weekly minimums. 

@Jacob NguyenYes, it’s definitely possible to qualify with your sister, especially since she has steady W-2 income.

We even have a sister property management company, landscaping company, and real estate brokerage.
