My opinion (as someone who has done it) is NO. 1) You gain nothing...a) Realtors will tell you that you get access to the MLS...but that has little value in todays world of Zillow/Realtor/Redfin/Trulia/Etc, b) people think that they will save 3% buyers agent fee, but you can do that without a license 2) You'll need to find a Broker to hang your license with. 3) It will cost you a lot of $$ on a yearly basis.
