It'll start to bubble and peel, and becomes really hard to fix or do over because you have to scrub off the whole coat to get it to look smooth.Also, get a respirator mask, IIRC they're about $40.

Great flashlights and extra batteries that fit, super long extender ladder, korkers/or other brands over shoe to go over your steel toe boots, GFCI tester, moisture meter, a dog nose, an extender mirror, shovel to check foundation moisture, respirator as some properties have gross smells or chemical exposure, regular retractable tape measure forget the laser one, 5 gallon bucket, zip lock baggies, brown paper bags, putty knife, variety of screw drivers,Are you checking basements?

Workmen would need a respirator while working with the asbestos, and the asbestos would need to be bagged and disposed of with a special landfill.

I had a two week window to do it, so I didn't have time to get it tested for asbestos... so I just proceeded as if it had asbestos, got a P-100 respirator, face shield, tyvek suit...etc.The popcorn had a layer of paint over it so I had to spray it with a vinegar/water mixture.
