It will haunt you until you repaint the whole place.  

When we have done brrrs in the past - after acquisition - redoing carpeting, redoing windows, repainting etc. these expenses we itemized and then deducted against our net profits.

I imagine, as with any other lead paint issue, as long as you repaint over it, it will be sealed and you won't have any problems.

I was cash flowing about $700/month and that includes my HELOC interest on the purchase price.Tenant moved out and we're investing around $6K (mostly materials, we're DIY) on new flooring for the living room, total repaint of the interior, and new kitchen cabinets. 

Opendoor then repaint the entire house, make it "nicer".d.

I need to repaint the house I bought in August...but I keep putting it off for all the reasons you mentioned, @Matthew Paul.

Everything passed except one window that we repainted and then re-tested clean.

I see a lead paint program as a necessity to force landlords to update their properties, many owners will have to decide if they will re-paint or install vinyl siding/windows or dump their properties to new owners who will.

Maybe extending the lease, etc, for the new carpet or repainting a room.
