Detroit has built a culture of bailing out these garbage tenants. 

Yep, but I think I can conceptualize how the culture has created a very soft mentality in general; but I cant nail down where the lazy and get rich quick aspect comes from.

heheI'm bias and have always loved Toledo.In all honesty, bit of a boring place and market.Not much to do for someone like me.Granted, growing up in Sydney, Australia and then moving to Toledo, Ohio is more than just a culture shock hehe.Who said you have to "live, where you invest" anyway?

Or maybe there's a new paradigm/cultural shift where people have to be more independent thinkers because there are soooo many influencers around? 

Sure it was done on the backs of hard work like getting it physically built and the profit from each beer sold, but emotionally it was done by taking a bunch of expats from different cultures and language backgrounds and putting them in one spot with one common goal, feeling accepted for who they each were as individuals.

Like every other aspect of our society, our culture sells lifestyles and lifepaths to people regardless of class, when income disparity is great than ever.

How do we bring culture and more young people?

I'm so blessed to have worked for some really good investment firms here in LA that maintain a culture of caring about its workers.
