Most will commit to 4 years b/c moving during school is an unnecessary pain and is expensive.  

Because it seemed unnecessary to you until this post. 

The addendum is unnecessary because as a couple they are both responsible for paying the full rent.

Long story but they were trying to force me to do something unnecessary that would've impacted me financially in a big way and would've caused me to waste a lot of time. 

I want to provide and safe enjoyable place to live, but this seems like unnecessary fixes.

It gives the landlord unnecessary anxiety every time their number or text flashes across your phone.

And sorry that realtors have given you the impression they are unnecessary.

You can ride a bike for 20 years without a helmet and never have an issue, therefore, in your experience a helmet is unnecessary...until that time you hit an unexpected pebble, fly over the handle bars and think...wish I had a helmet on. 

Based on my personal experience, I would estimate over 90% of these emotional support animals are unnecessary, just like animals flying on planes.

I would leave it be and avoid unnecessary court/legal costs, and move on...especially considering evictions are on hold in most of the country.
