Of course, my parents provided motivation by overruling state law (people had to stay in school until age 16) and told me I had to stay there until I graduated at age 18.I also had to take the tougher "college entrance courses" (more math, more science, more of everything) rather than the easier courses required by the New York State Regents to earn a high school diploma.

Going to work for a PM company sure helped me....of course the degree in engineering and Marine Corps officer training might have helped too....This is not rocket science, but it is about managing people and their assets effectively.You have to know how to hold your ground and perform consistently.
