Not sure if things have changed which would be no surprise in DC, but with my last flip there maybe 3 or 4 years ago that never came up.

I'm just starting out and looking to become a long-distance real estate investor.

The previous owners, an LLC, had defaulted on their taxes, because the fraudster who sold it to them had forged a deed (property was long vacant, with incomplete tax records) and illegally conveyed the property to them.  

You could have avoided this with the research.Common sense also prevails in many instances where if there is land in a townhome community - why did the original builder not build there as townhomes are not built by individual owners.  

We have a "Flipping 101" and "Woman in Real Estate" specialty meetings as well as several others each month. 

SupplyLas Vegas is unique because it is a tiny island of privately owned land in an ocean of federal land.
