as far as inspections vash is no harder than any other, many cities require inspections anyway for rental occupancy by local codes, standards are the same, smoke detectors, locks, GFIs etc

Let's see if they succeed.I do know that in Taney County there is actually a motion on the ballet this next February 14th to remove permanently R-1 for nightly rental conditional use permits.

The 4th Thursday of every month is a standing inspection for fire prevention to check all smoke detectors and CO detectors.

To be blunt here, I think pushing for entry right now for something as menial as checking the expiration date on a smoke detector is pretty darn stupid.

The best education though is street experience and learning to be a bs detector.

mine often take down the smoke detectors and/or forget to change furnace filters..... the horror!

(emphasis on sarcasm in case anyone's detector is low)

If one wanted to take security further one could put video surveillance in that area that is motion detected, posted online for the renter with text notification. 

I have a DVR that I move to empty properties and a motion security alarm.  

You could also request a  motion for discovery to help you in the execution of any levy allowed by the court.
