In FL, I imagine that climate control is essential, as is pest control. 

Make good investments no matter the market climate and you'll do fine.

I live in Northen MD and just today found out one Extra Storage location (801 Long Dr, Aberdeen MD) is doing $18 for 5'X6 and $42 for a 8'X10', indoor elevator accessed, climate-controlled taking over its competitors' business.

Realistically speaking, for those of us who have been through the process up in colder climates, you will know that judges are invariably far more hesitant to evict in winter months if alternative housing looks like it can't be arranged.

Everywhere is different in the way they respond to and regulate short term rentals so you need to know the climate in that particular area.

BTW, I'm pretty sure I never slept through my Econ 101 class but that's just because I don't even remember taking it :)-  I'm no expert, just trying to make wise decisions given the current climate.

Heat pumps are incredibly efficient, use far less energy than a conventional A/C, and are used all over the US and internationally in all sorts of climates.

That kind of 'problem' is the hallmark of a disordered tenant.
