We knew that by allowing pets, we would need to schedule deep cleanings every so often but we had dog hair everywhere, mud marks on the door like it had been scratching to get outside, paw marks on the rugs, sheets, etc. 

I think it would be super weird to try to require someone to use rugs.

However, unhelpfully, someone came to look at the apartment yesterday and remarked that they could "Smell cats" in the apartment- and this was after the previous tenant with one cat had vacated, and I had both used baking soda and rug shampooed the carpets.I can't smell anything, but I can imagine how bad it will be after a tenant with two cats!  

Excuses, dodging - made me feel payment performance was improving only to rug pull and not pay.  3 day notice posted. 

Apart from getting rugged periodically and things dropping 90% overnight, lol.  

An antique persian rug made of wool is vastly superior to a nylon one from Lowe's.  

Update: Booking.com finally reimbursed me for the damaged rug but I still won't list my property on there because of lack of help from customer service. 

If you are in a large metro area, it's a slam dunk.You can get semi-antique persian rugs on FB Marketplace for the same price you can get a cheap fake at Lowes.
