We basically took it down to the walls and everything is new.

There’s less risk involved because there’s no unforeseen issues unlike a home where you might tear into a wall and find termite damage.

If you plan to disturb any painted surfaces (windows, trim, walls), make sure your contractor is EPA RRP-certified — it’s illegal for them to scrape or sand without it.

After closing I think he found some old dry rot some where and began tearing apart the the wall.
