Then you add in the fact that your HOA fee covers insurance for the building itself (and Flood), maintenance of the elevators, pools, and all the common areas, 24/7 onsite security, electricity for the building, and access to top notch amenities including indoor and outdoor pools and splash areas, water slide, lazy river, tiki bar, attached parking garage, and a couple onsite restaurants. 

The fact that it's converted into equity raises (alternate could have been a flat suspension for x months) the concern of future payment resumption and it only elevates the uncertainty of business to  resume repayment!
