Maybe a new roof put on my Ralph the nighttime roofer?

The worst experience we've had was with a flat roofer (very common roof type in Chicago) we finally wrapped up, after waiting almost two years for them to finish/fix something.

We've used a roofer here recently and he is cheaper.

This will just turn into a ventfest with everyone complaining about how they can’t find good cleaners, Handymen, Plumbers, roofers, lawncare, snow plow, electricians, etc etc etc.And everyone complaining how they had to fire their last cleaners because cleaning crew members got in a huge fight in the front yard and started throwing things at each other…And how they had to fire the cleaners before that because they showed up drunk…And how they had to fire the cleaners before that because they never even showed up…

I’m not promising a fairy tale, but if you want guidance from someone who’s spent late nights haggling with contractors, tweaking staging plans, and emailing roofers at odd hours, well, I’m here.

The roofer gave me a invoice with high level bill of material, and a statement that it has 2 years of warranty and brand name of the shingles.It does not say brand name warranty or model or batch number etc. 

You are in a very tough situation not because of the divorce or employment that all can be mended and repaired with time.

Gov. mandates, laws, regulations, these are tools to control WHAT the product/service is, think safety focused. mandating no lead in toys, or fall-arrest gear for roofers, things like that, THAT is where it works.
