If a child grows up in poverty and sees both parents working minimum wage jobs, then they will probably come to believe the only way to earn money is to work that minimum wage job.

I can't imagine the ongoing battle on what concepts would be taught, and the uproar that would ensue when a school tried to teach a child a different concept than the parents believed and lived by.
