There are a lot of scammers or dishonest property managers out there (one in town in particular) that I have seen that scam out of state investors by either taking their money to do construction on a property but never actually do the construction, do it properly, do everything that was promised only to find that you have many problems with the property, or offer you properties at way more than you should pay for them (same with some wholesalers).
