Obviously questions about religion, sexual preference etc. are irrelevant to a landlord and will not come up. 

You can provide them with a reason for not qualifying, but always ensure compliance with the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, and familial status.

Even if I find their beliefs crazy as all hell...Do you know if this fear of ghosts is based in a religion?

Kind of like for me my grandparents living through the great depression borrowing money and paying interest was against their religion.

There will always be scammers and hustlers it just makes it trickier when they wrap it up in RELIGION and very unfortunate.
