Since you mentioned that you both are going to be 50 / 50 equity members and you both seem to be able to qualify for mortgages (i.e. your have good credit), what is the advantage of you guys joining forces to form a partnership?

So even if you pick a state with stronger protections like WY or NV, the cause of action arose in the state where the tenant fell, so likely that the court where the accident happened would have jurisdiction.California tends to have more laws on the books and requirements and restrictions that it can be a good idea to form a CA LLC for out of state property so that you as a CA resident are covered, and to try to have your contracts fall under the purview of CA courts.

It also costs $197/year or $29/month and is cloud-based, which I'm not really sure how I feel about.I will deal with CRM software later, if I need to; right now, I'm just interested in analyzing deals, tracking bids and construction costs, and coming up with professional-looking pro formas and packages to present to lenders.
