A VA loan may be a workable option in that case, but then there is still the question of getting something that is cash-flowing.As an alternative investment that doesn't take leveraging but still delivers double digit returns on a real estate investment and still has the tax deductible benefits you might consider something I recently added to my REI portfolio.

You don't even need to connect W/D, but if you remove the option the value and desirability instantly goes down.Regarding actually hooking up the W/D, I would do it in my area (B- C+ area I would say) ten times out of ten just to make it easier to get a renter and extra rent income.

Certainly you cannot expect to drop into a new industry and know it from day one {Something, I wish they would drive home in MBA programs}, but the underlaying financials of a successful real estate business mirror those of any other successful business - the product or service being delivered is different.When we (my partner and I) ventured into real estate, I was aghast by how many buy-n-hold real estate investors did not run their properties like a business (now it is just amusing).
