Be very careful what block and area you buy in.  

I don't know much about the bottom of the market--we normally do "worst house on nicest block" full rehabs closer to Chicago.

You have your contact stuff blocked.

And when I say outside of those area's, I literally mean like a block over. 

I had to bust out 4 courses of block down to the footer . ( the house was bricked faced after the old  unit was installed)  I could reach in with the hoe for the first 2 feet to dig it down to a depth where I could stand .  

It's a beautiful city and I'd love to live there, but there are brand new, 100+ unit apartment complexes every couple blocks.  

When you replace a water heater the drain pipe, the flue and the fresh air intake might have to be modified for the new tank.

The units most likely don't even have separate blocks and lots, but in any event, go check your deed from when you purchased and let me know if you actually own your apartment entirely, and if you do, I'll find someone right away to take a mortgage on your apartment and pay off your loan.

First the tenants were improperly using the trash compactor to “see what would happen” if they threw a bike or cinder block in it and pressed the start button.
