I'm new to this site as well , and there is nothing but information and good people to help you along the way.

I don't know too many people that are even close to buying or selling a home.

A lot of people in this market swear that it's still going to get higher, while a few financial "experts" seem to think that "winter is coming" (a correction).Besides the regular investment strategies (which I'm starting to implement soon), I really have the bug to put that FHA to work and get started (this would be my 2nd property, first is already a rental in Austin), I just think I'm missing something and I'd like your opinions. 

I thought my best bet would be to become an agent so I could learn how the real estate market works, gain capital, and most importantly create relationships with people who can show me the ropes and point me in the right direction.

I also want to network with like minded people and share experiences.  

As @Tyion Bridgeman mentioned, most people would just go for a 4-plex multi instead of renting rooms, so you need to justify the strategy.

A lot of things draw a lot of people to the Knoxville area.

most people in the business that are busy will never, ever give you their contractor's info. it's like setting up your spouse on a blind date.

Ultimately, I'd like to get to the point with investing where I don't need to have a full-time corporate job.I look forward to meeting people on here and gaining the knowledge to become a very successful investor. 

Are there any criteria for joining a REIA or can people like me who don't have investment properties also join?
