They were and still are common here and I've never heard of one going boom or presenting any more of a hazard than any other furnace.

I would also caution you on Eastern Montana, Some of the towns are doing well because of the Oil boom and alot of the smaller towns had no effect whatsoever.  

The suburbs are booming, building new SFHs like crazy.

This isn't the first boom we've seen, and its not the first bust we've seen, either.

The market is booming and any decent GC I know is super busy.

Oil is a boom and bust industry.
