Buying personally and transferring later risks the due on sale clause.I'm no lawyer but there's two things that people don't seem to mention when talking about asset protection and LLCs.1) If someone wants to sue you, they can sue you, LLC or not.

I don’t know AL lien laws, but in FL transferring ownership doesn’t affect the ability for a contractor to file a lien.Lien laws are very specific as to timelines, notices, etc that a contractor must follow....reading the statute may help.

You could just get one under your personal name and later file a quitclaim and transfer title into the name of the LLC.There is a slight risk that the bank could call the loan due, but it is not likely

As in any transfer of title that violates the due on sale clause of an existing mortgage, the mortgagee has the right to accelerate the note, and complying with state law can foreclose.
