The more I look, the more likely it seems that a "mother-in-law" appt would be illegal, even if tolerated (it seems there are plenty of over-garage appts in this neighborhood).Here are a few numbers:-------------------------------- $288k agreed upon price- No repairs needed upstairs- Rentals similar to upstairs are running $1.7k (SFH, not split-living)I would need to install kitchenette downstairs to live there. ($5-10k)- I would end up paying $1.1k for equivalent rental to basement.So, including my own "rent", "gross income" might be $2.5k\month.Thoughts?
