That said, being handy and capable of fixing/building things could prove beneficial in at least two ways:1) You can estimate more closely the costs of making changes/fixing/building which can help you make better offers. 2) You can have better ideas or ways to look at a property and imagine ways it can be improved or repurposed. 

I hope to do syndications one day myself, so it's great seeing new players break into it. 

An analogy would be to obtain a baseball player but not to look at their past power numbers.
