In this county there was only 1 McDonalds that close and it closed to move a block away at a traffic light, from there former location in the middle of the block not at a traffic signal. 

For those with your permit approved in Davidson county: Are adjacent neighbors defined as sending notifications or getting signatures, from the block surroinding you?

I feel your pain with buying at the top of the market.

So far the management of all of these renovations hasn't been too terrible, and aside from the pain of having to comply to repairs following a buyer's home inspection, the sales process has not been very difficult. 

Water leaks are a major pain.....Water leaks in the upstairs units are such major suckage they defy any other adjectives.

So there will be others.There is a 2/1.5 duplex a couple blocks away renting for 600.

Hopefully one day I will find something.As far as locations, I agree with all of Taylor's recommendations, except that if Irvington is the area I think, then that one scares me depending on which block you are on.

I'm closing on ONE (also my first rental) Townhouse in North Charleston and its been a pain! 

For example, I'm eying a 3 unit multifamily that costs $995,000 but the best rent it will bring in in is $6200 (I know this b/c I study the neighborhood & have 3 rental units a few blocks away).
