If you are getting paid based as a percentage of the sale / purchase price, that sounds an awful lot like a commission to me.However, I am not your attorney, so if you want a definitive answer to your question, I would recommend you hire an experience Texas real estate attorney OR get a real estate license (and then you don't have to worry about the issue).

@Max BellinoHolding company is really not needed unless you run multiple operational businesses like a property management firm, construction firm etc that you want to roll up into one entityHaving a holding company that holds one company you that owns real estate would have me question what’s the use case?

Should I be visiting, asking neighbors questions, getting a feel for the neighborhood and home (in person rather than just off of online research) before buying or making offers?
