I also sometimes stay after the meeting for drinks and more talking/networking.Also, my REIA has several meetings a month: the general meeting (where the speaker usually comes), more specific meetings like an IRA one, women's meeting, landlord meeting, etc.

I would hold these investments outside of my IRA and hope to realize some tax benefits from my ownership interest.I do not know how to best structure this and how I can maximize my participation tax benefits or do the write offs need to be proportional to contribution.I believe structuring an investment like this is fair because it allows a new investor to get started and learn first hand what it is like to risk capital and make money based on the knowledge and experience I have.
