Dogs and cats pee on laminate, hot-water humidifiers leak on it, kids start wet-mopping it when they spill something on it that they don't want Mommy to see, tenants turn off the heat when they go somewhere no matter what you write into the lease, and the stuff swells at the joints.

Everyone i spoke to did not replace wire.just remember; all drywall 12 inches above flood line, cabinets, doors, flooring(tile should be fine), maybe the a/c equipment, window stools, baseboard, insulation, outlets (at least) and it took us 3 months with multiple fans and humidifiers running to get all the wood back to acceptable moisture content.

Combustion reactions change lots of chemicals into lots of other chemicals, some of them being things like Carbon Monoxide, Tar, etc.Vaping is just basically a humidifier.

Editing to add we are a little more worried than usual (we would probably just run fans and a humidifier and clean up ourselves) but our forced hot air system comes from this basement and we have a newborn baby so really don’t want to be having mold coming through our air vents!

Turns out the humidifier on the furnace was left on all winter so far and the windows and walls had condensation and mold.
