I am currently in the education phase of my journey, have been listening/reading a ton, and will be pivoting my career path hopefully to a multifamily operator with a role in acquisitions or asset management-focused. 

Anyone find success investing in NYC?

Any advice on how you’ve successfully done so would be appreciated.  

I’ve always stressed that a thorough knowledge of real estate principles, real estate law, and real estate finance is imperative for a sustainable profitable career as an ACTIVE real estate investor.  

Successful NYC investors — what's your story? 

My recommendation- Find someone local that is already running a successful care home & become an educational sponge before you pull the trigger on your own home.   

With capital fully returned and three new assets in operation, this project reflects a successful application of our value-add investment strategy.On to the next one!

Specific to real estate, the real estate investor who takes their bumps and learns through mistakes and is still standing is better positioned for sustained success than the person who attempts to eliminate all waste and mistakes by applying other investors personal experience. 

My quick and dirty due diligence, for what is worth: Jon seems to have had a long and successful career on wall street. 

Even if you do one deal and it does really well that is not an indicator or a future success.
