Plano is a major job market to the South.

I just finished renovating a 3/2/2 house in Plano, TX and it's cleaned up and ready to list today (May 26) — but I'm only in town for 1 week, and then I'm going on vacation for a week, with two weekends tacked onto that. 

There are nice-looking 4/2.5s with much lower rent than you in West Plano. 

I believe Plano has regs or in process of enactment after several bad incidents.Most of the condos and HOAs prohibit STR.I think if you're set on doing this I would look at the smaller cities outside of the main metroplex where STRs are not prevalent and so fewer regulations and less interest from the neighbors.

Worth has tough restrictions, Dallas and Plano I think are both trying to implement restrictions.Where do you want to buy?

In Collin County, consider properties with strong appreciation potential in areas like Plano or Frisco.
